Louis de Poortere Antiquarian Ushak Yenikapi Light Carpet 9837
- 100% polyester
Louis de Poortere carpets is a Belgian brand specializing in cotton, wool and flat-woven carpets. It draws handfuls from the traditions of Flemish master weavers, while relying on modern production methods and original designs. De Poortere is distinguished by its high quality and distinctive style, which has been recognized in such places as the Louvre, the White House, the Vatican, and England's Royal Castle.
Louis De Poortere's Antiquarian Ushak rug, model Yenikapi Light 9837, draws inspiration from the timeless designs of the Turkish Ushak tribe, known for creating intricate carpets used in mosques and churches. Traditional designs have been reinterpreted here with faded colors, reminiscent of later 20th century versions that have stood the test of time. Made using a flat jacquard weaving technique with 100% polyester (40% of which is recycled PET), the rug has a pile height of 4 mm and a weight of 1500 g/m². Non-slip PES latex backing provides stability on a variety of surfaces. This rug combines historic depth with contemporary elegance, creating a beautifully aged aesthetic that will complement both modern and classic interiors.
