Aaland Armchair (Gorgone) Green
- Patricia Urquiola
New collection of upholstered furniture AALAND, designed by Patricia Urquiola, is inspired by the imagery of archipelagos - groups of neighboring islands that create a sense of cohesion in a fluid space. This distinctive concept permeates every piece in the collection; the soft, organic shapes of the seats stretch and connect to create small islands that generate new spaces of comfort and togetherness.
AALAND challenges the classical principles of upholstery, opening up to free forms, surprising and multifunctional shapes, going beyond traditional seating styles. The collection offers numerous small seats that together create a landscape full of opportunities to spend time together. Sofas, armchairs, large and small poufs are presented as miniature islands that connect and complement each other using an organic language of forms. No upholstered element functions independently - they all work together to form a cohesive whole.
Elements of the collection have been individually designed in more compact sizes for flexibility - they can be easily rearranged and rearranged as needed. Complementing this landscape are three sizes of AALAND carpets, characterized by a unique graphic theme. This motif depicts two rounded, organic forms - each with a different filling - placed close together and connected by a graphic seam-like element. This treatment creates a visual effect with great expressive power, further enriching the aesthetics and dynamics of the surrounding space.
