The company Kvadrat was founded in Denmark in 1968 and has all its roots, which was known in the world of Scandinavian design. A leader in the achievements of innovation, utility products, high quality, technical designers, utility, utility, utility, utility. Kvadrat carpets cultivate a share of color, quality, simplicity and innovation. In collaboration with leading designers, architects and artists, including Patricia Urquiola, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Margrethe Odgaard, Alfredo Häberli, Doshi Levien, Giulio Ridolfo, Peter Savill, Pipilotti Rist, Thomas Demand and Olafur Eliasson.
Made from handspun Tibetan wool, the construction of Semis is time consuming, using the fine – yet remarkably strong – Tibetan knotting technique. The intentional irregularity of the cut edges creates a beautiful random surface with a handmade touch. For the designers, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, it is the shape of the dots, the trimming, and the fact that a number of different weavers will create each rug – that gives every Semis rug a special, personal touch.
The dimensions shown are only examples. Kvadrat carpets can be ordered in any size, some models in almost any.
